What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a healing technique that involves massaging certain points on the feet, hands, and ears, called reflex points, to activate related organs and systems in the body, leading to healing, relaxation, and better health. This practice, with its origins in ancient Egypt, China, and India, has been developed and improved in the 20th century. It is founded on the idea that the body's energy flows and that obstructions can lead to sickness. By applying pressure to these reflex points, therapists seek to boost blood flow, ease discomfort, lower stress, and support the body's own healing mechanisms.

Clients remain clothed apart from having bare feet as they enjoy the treatment whilst comfortably reclined.

The treatment begins with cleansing the feet with warm towels that have been steamed with pure essential oils of lavender, or another bespoke choice. You will then enjoy a short foot massage to stimulate the feet before a full reflexology treatment on both feet.

Clients using my reflexology treatments in Penzance often report that aspects of their health start to improve straight away but in general, if we are looking at balancing a long-standing or recurrent issue for you then it is recommended you have 6 x reflexology sessions as a standard to see a resolve. If working on such a long-standing issue then it is normally advised to have those 6 sessions as one per week or one every two weeks to see best results.

For clients wanting ongoing 'maintenance' these are normally taken as one session a month, or every few weeks.

Of course, you are under no commitment to sign up to a package of bookings and you can enjoy a one-off session, or choose your own frequency of ongoing sessions, for a relaxing and restorative experience!

Hand reflexology treatments Penzance

Clients can also choose to have hand reflexology instead of, or as well as, foot reflexology. Hand reflexology has exactly the same benefits! The session time for hand reflexology is shorter as the coverage area is less.

The treatment begins with cleansing the hands with warm towels that have been steamed with pure essential oils of lavender, or another bespoke choice. You will then enjoy a short hand massage to stimulate the hands before a full reflexology treatment on both hands.

Note: if I have been seeing you as an existing reflexology client (for feet) then you can choose to have a hand reflexology anytime you like, and don't have to pay the first session rate, as I will already have taken your 1st session case notes.

After Your Treatment

You've had your well-being session and hopefully you are feeling super relaxed!


After a reflexology based treatment - whether standard Reflexology, Reflexology Lymph Drainage or within the Earthing & Balancing treatment, because the therapy works on the entire body and emotional system via the foot body map, some people experience a slight but temporary flare up of symptoms or feel very tired - this is due to the toxins leaving your body and is nothing to be alarmed about. However, some people feel immediately energised and light! It's all individual. The most important thing is to honour the process and allow yourself time to rest. 


After an Ayurvedic Facial, as this treatment has worked on marma points on your face which correspond to key connective points of the body system and emotions/consciousness, you also need to practise good self care to maximise the benefits of the treatment.

Payment

I do not have a card machine; so payment is either in cash on the day or by a BACS payment (bank transfer - bank details given upon request). If by BACS I ask for this at least 48 hrs prior to your session so that I can see the payment in my bank account and confirm. 


Cancellation 

Please note I am a micro-business and I book the treatment space upon receiving booking requests. I make payment for the hire of the treatment space and if a client is a 'no show' or cancels very close to the session time I still have to pay the room booking fee and I have no time to offer to another client who may have been able to take that spot.


Therefore, please give me at least 48 hrs notice of any cancellation, or if you wish to move the booking to another date/time.


Of course 'life happens' and it may be that you have genuine circumstances which prevent you from attending your session on the day. Otherwise for late cancellations (under 48 hrs notice) I request half the payment to cover my room booking fee and lost time.


Refunds

I do not offer refunds for any treatments that have been provided and completed.


Referring Clients On

As a professional therapist the client's best interest's are always paramount and occasionally I may recommend that instead of receiving any treatment with me, or any continued treatment with me, you seek support with another type of therapy or see a different provider. If I do recommend this then I will always try to supply you with a few links to help you.
