The days of winter wrap around us, dynamic weather beating at the window, cold pushing at the door. From inside us comes a yearning to rest, yet circumstance and necessity calls us to keep working.
What if, for a moment, we lifted high; high above our daily pattern, and saw ourselves as a wondrous bird, wings outstretched, buoyant on a thermal lift. Take a moment to see yourself as this bird. Beautiful, carefree, unknowing of human drama. The skies are your expansion, the ground is your nourishment. Feel your heart rested and joyful with calm be-ing. Alive within this universe.
Spring is coming, but for now the earth is still in its waiting. There is no hurry. Cold will give way, eventually to warmth. All will come in time. The slow unfurl deep underground to the song of Imbolc is here, listen and trust.
And in the spirit of pausing, allowing light to reach into our beings; to treasure it and to let it nourish us, I wish to share this poem, White-Eyes by Mary Oliver.
